Boredom and more Dollhouse

With some quite considerable restraint I managed not to watch the 2nd ep of Dollhouse till this morning. That plus my intense boredom and lack of anymore attention span for reproductive revision means...

Why was this show not aired first? I may have a small recollection in the back of my head as to someone saying Fox had done a Firefly thing again in airing the shows in the wrong order? But that was such a good ep, alot better than Ghost.

All the characters were introduced, Echo is very much more likeable, as is Boyd. There is even a little Joss dialogue leaking through in the character of Tropher. If the first sequence of Ghost had been transplanted onto the begining of this ep it would have been almost perfect. The pace was right, the story was right. It gave you time to work out the characters and placed enough little cryptic clues about to get your mind thinking, to make you want to watch the rest of the series. All the little things that flash up going 'Look out for me, somethings going to happen here... but not yet' were hidden enough but still visable.

I liked that ep... in case you didn't work it out. Enough to get me excited about the rest of the series.

Spent a long time today doing revision, just to fill the time. Tis a good thing I guess, but i'm thinking this will be a very time filling week, complete with lots of re-watching of slightly neglected fandoms and lazy not get out of bed days... possibley what i need to let me finish theyear without combusting, possibly enough the make me lazy about getting back to work, we'll see...

The first episode was good but it lacked... something.
I think they made Joss completely rewrite and reshoot the first episode because they didn't like the original one he made. Something along those lines.
It gets much better. The first five eps or so are up and down, not bad but some are better than others. But episode 6 is sort of the real turning point and the point when you know you're watching a Joss show.

lol I think a week of relaxing and not always getting out of bed will be very good for you! Enjoy yourself!

I knew they'd done something to the first ep. I think the second would have made a good first one though?

I don't want to race through them all but its very diffucult, esp with me having nothing to do... may have to go watch the next one now...

I agree, stick the beginning and end bits of ep1 onto ep2 and you'd have had a much better first episode.
Because of the whole refilming thing (and I'm confused by exactly how this worked but still...) it means that there's one extra episode - not the original first ep, but another episode - that will be on the DVD but almost definitely not shown on TV. Which at least gives me an excuse for spending my money on the DVDs when they come out.

I have a horrible feeling this is going to turn into another Firefly, it's not getting good enough ratings apparently so we may be seeing it cancelled :(

*rolls eyes* will they not learn? Look how successful Firefly turned out to be even with being cancelled, give it a chance!!
