(no subject)

 I know, I'm late to the party. But I was in Morocco. And although a restaurant we were eating in did randomly start playing Serenity (dubbed in Arabic) half way through dinner, the Doctor was nowhere to be found. However I think watching while eating breakfast the day I get back grants me some forgiveness, yes? Especially as I got distracted and ended up with cold eggs.

So my first reaction was "What happened to Elizabeth?!", like I said, out of the country, so missed that one. Thoughts go to her family and friends, she will be missed.

 

The rest of this will most likely not run in any logical order unless you live in my brain... and even then its not guaranteed. But here goes anyhow...

The opening sequence reminded me why I love Eleven so. Only having Tens DVD's meant he kind of got sidelined in between seasons, but he reminds me so much of an over excited puppy dog. And I love him for it. Running round for 200 years showing off. And the Ponds, in their little flat. Rory makes me very happy. Very much not needing to be shot. I'm liking that he gets to come too, it would have been odd for Amy to fly off again and leave him pottering about. Especially with:

'Stalker... flirt... husband!'

And River. One day I'll meet him and he won't know me. And it might well kill me. Oh River. Although we know they don't exactly run opposite to each other, but oh well, artistic licence and all that. (Hang on... do we know they don't run opposite each other? I'm assuming so because River talks about the Doctor crying the last time she sees him before meeting Ten, which I can't really fit to Eleven as he doesn't know her yet?)

 

The Doctor is the one he trusts the most. Yep, sounds about right!

The Doctor trying to run from his summons reflected Ten a bit for me, running from the Ood. Only this time he has his companions to keep him straight. I know he's not running from his death this time, but he knows its not something good. His distrust of River intrigues me. Their whole relationship does really, (along with the rest of the fandom...). Answers please Moff! Is she the one in the space suit? Does she know if she is? WHO IS SHE?

 

Badger! And called Canton... is that coincidence that links in my Firefly infused brain? Or on purpose? Not that I really care either way, it makes me happy.

 

Yes Doctor, they can see you. Eleven why do you make me want to hug you so much? Ten I wanted to hold and look after, Eleven needs a big glomping hug and a tussle of his hair. 'Make her Blue again!' Love :)

 

Again with the child's voice. Creepy. And OK, monsters you forget about after seeing them? So now we're stuck looking for them everywhere in Who ever right? And well done Amy for taking a photo. Very clever. 

 

We have mentions of baby before Amy's 'I'm pregnant' (Which, can't be that simple. Nothing is ever that simple. And has she told Rory? She was drinking wine. So is she? Or does she just think she is? I admit when she wasn't feeling well I half thought pregnant? but idk... I'm hoping we're not talking alien pregnancy... Unless Moff is far better than Mr Whedon at that one, and I normally fall into the 'Whedon is God' camp) Children again, throughout all of Moffs eps pretty much. 

 

Rory and River together. Rory remembers all 2000 years right? Poor boy... And he still has to share her with the Doctor. Which actually puts him, sort of, older than the Doctor. Hmmmm... 

 

Amy... who did you shoot? 

 

I like. Very much. Although... felt a little bit to 'Yay, we're in America'... and I know full well that is just me being snobbish and British, but... I like Who best when it's understated and sarcastic and British. Keep calm and carry on.

You know I had not noticed the Canton link. I was way too busy being excited because he was there at all.

Oh Whedon and pregnancy *despairs* Moffat must be better at it. He just has to be.

Rory being a full-time companion this season makes me so happy. I love Amy and River and Eleven so much, but he's probably my favorite character of Moffat's era so far, and definitely the one I relate to the most.

I think they generally run in opposite orders. I very much doubt that it's exactly like that, and I hope it's not cause that would be very cheesy and very unrealistic, but it seems to generally go that way. I bet it took him a while to go back to the time before she dies, many even til after he met her for her first time. So far we've only seen the pain their relationship causes her, but I don't doubt that the Doctor will get his fair share.

I don't think Amy is really pregnant, and I'm not sure I want it to. I really don't want that to be her arc this season. If she is, I hope it doesn't play a big role or change who she is. Oh well, I guess we'll see!

I didn't really register him on first watch of S5. Kind of got bored of him by the time he was erased, but seem to have changed my mind of re-watch and he is becoming the character I relate with.

Absolutely. I hope that once we find out who she is she doesn't disappear/ become less of a character.

Yeah, I mean I love all the badass women in this show and the Doctor. I love Amy and I admire River, but I don't really relate to either one of them. I'm not always that clever and I'm not always brave. Rory I can relate to because he's smart, he likable, he's loyal, and he loves traveling with the Doctor, but he's not completely awestruck by it (though I probably would be a little bit) and he knows there are important things other than that. I dunno, he's the one I would probably act the most like.

Yeah, I think a lot of the crap River gets is due to the nature of her relationship with the Doctor. I've seen people who don't like her because her whole life seems to be based around the Doctor, but I don't think that's true. We just don't know her yet or see her when she's not with the Doctor.

Oh, and about what you said about Amy taking the picture with her phone! I loved that. Amy can be so creatively clever. Like when she blinked with the angels.
