Victory of the Darleks
Apr. 18th, 2010 11:04 am World war 2 and Darleks... actually what more could you ask for?
I loved the Doctor and Churchill's relationship. They bounced off each other so well, and it was nice to see one that was already developed. (Although for some reason I just expected Ten to poke his head out of the TARDIS at the beginning, and I have no clue why...)
Eleven's response to the Darleks was a little bit perfect. He wasn't as angry as Ten, much more understated. And a little bit scary. It was like they frustrated him, just keep killing them and they just keep coming back. You can see it boiling up when he hits them with a spanner (Which, awesome!)
I can see a recurring theme in Amy saving the world, again. By herself. She's a lot more independent, and far more sure of herself, than any of the others. I'm putting it down too she's had 14 years to think it all over, she's not just going to sit by and be told what to do.
The Doctor seems increasingly dismissive of her though. Despite coming through last time, she still gets 'Your not helping' and left behind.
And I think they are trying to make fan-girls heads explode. 'ever fancied someone you know you shouldn't' *glance over at the Doctor*. Hmmm, not so subtle that one. Although, at least she doesn't worship him AND fancy him. And I think she's aware that it's just a bit of 'he came flying in to save me in a big blue box'
And not remembering Darleks, late TARDIS and cracks in the wall... I'll leave that to people who are far more observant than me!
ETA Jammy Dodger. Actually laughed out loud at that one 'I was promised tea'
