OK, I know I'm not meant to like the guy. But tough, I do. Think I'm just realising quite how much again. Plus, he gains points for guitar playing and having a string quartet (!).
I've only ever seen Ronan playing at the NEC in Birmingham (and Boyzone at O2 in London), so I was amazed at how small the Albert Hall is. I have no idea how many seats it is, but the vertical layout makes it feel even smaller. We were on the bottom tier of the seating (Not the flat bit, but the next bit up) About half way along and on the second row. Definatly closer than I've ever been and it makes such a differance. Actually watching him, rather than a dot and mainly watching the screens (of which there were none).
I could try to go through the whole show, but I'll get muddled so I'm just going to go with what I can remember.
He was very engaging with the crowd, again this was poss due to the size differance, but it was really nice to see him interacting with the front members of the audience, and walking up either side.
Stay sticks out as an amazing performance. His vocals on that are so so strong, although the lyrics kind of ring a bit empty to me, I don't really care, his vocals more than make up for it! And the rather pretty video doesn't do any harm!
In this life had me in tears. Well, OK, pretty much from 'On the 10th October...' had me wibbling, the song just tipped me over. (Mum decided this would be the best time to go to the loo aswell, and only returned half way through ITL. Having not seen the funeral she was a little confused as too why i was sat crying until Steos picture came up!)
Quite glad of the costume change and the uping of the tempo following that too, as I was still wobbling a bit after it, it really helped to let you carry on and ejoy the show.
I love it when we do, Loving each day and Life is a rollercoaster stick out as being big fun tracks, that you could see him enjoying, and picture of you aswell!
There is just something that gets me about him. And I don't know if its just becuase I worshipped them growing up or if its something else. But I was so excited about going, and literally sat there with the hugest grin ever on my face (which is still there I might add!). I just get completely absorbed into it all. I said when we left, I really think he could do anything and i would just sit and watch him. I don't know why, but I'm not complaining!

Date: 2010-03-11 07:20 pm (UTC)Oooh yeah, RAH is surprisingly small. Looks way bigger on TV I think. Never been to a proper concert there but I can imagine it would be amazing and a really different experience to something like the O2

Date: 2010-03-11 07:25 pm (UTC)Twas amazing. Completely differant atmosphere to previously. Watching a show sitting down for the most part was strange but meant I could actually just watch (and see) the show without my normal self consious fidgeting! Plus, Ronan.
Have you heard new album yet? Much more grown up, I really like it. Prob more than Ro's last few (Although certain songs on those are amazing!). Its nice to hear the others voices on it. Prob be here with full review soon also :)
And I WILL convert you completely, whether you like it or not!
