Ugh. Ok, this is why group work sucks. We had to do a big long key thing for our course work. 40 animals to sort, 4 people in a group. 10 animals each (ish, I did 14 coz of the way they were split) 3 weeks we've had. So why am i waiting by bthe pc the night before it has to be handed in for the last set of animals?? Having already done my own 14 animals AND another 7 because he didn't bother to turn up. Now all he has to do is create a fact file for 7 animals, thats half of 14 already. But no. We spend all day trying to get hold of him and he promises they're all done, but then i call and he's doing them now, half hour tops, 3 hours later I'm still waiting to get it done and means i'm either going to have to work late tonight to get it linked or i'm going to have to get up early in the morning. Not to mention having to go all the way to bolderwood to hand it in before the 12 o'clock deadline becuase i'm the only one who doesn't have a lecture in the morning and actually at least then i know no one else is going to forget it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I spent such a long time working on my classifications. They follow perfectly the evolutionary tree becuase i spent the time to look for it. I used sources other than the less than accurate wikipedia. And now my mark will be brought down and theres up. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Hmmm. OK rant over...
Am going to join the conservation volunteers this weekend, which sounds quite cool in an overly geeky kinda way. They go out and chop down trees or plant them or look after hedgerows or build picnic benches and it means i will be out of the city (even if southampton is a very green city) and doing something that requires little thought but enough efort and hopefully meet some cool people. Needing some sort of release right about now. Its not that the work is hard or I'm stressing over it particually. I just feel like i've been in one place for too long and am getting stuck in the same old habits while i really want to DO something.
Little restless this evening, can you tell. Well, back off to see if these animals have arrived yet!!
